2007Butterfly Sighs presented excerpts from at Open Look International Festival of Contemporary Dance, St. Petersburg Russia.


2005Kinetic Ties presented at the Grand Prix Italia International Dance Festival, Cesena Italy. “Kinetic Ties” took first place for best contemporary dance and second place for best overall choreography.


2004Energy Unbound presented at the Open Look International Festival of Contemporary Dance, St. Petersburg Russia. This work was performed in collaboration with dancers from WTAMU, Lone Star Ballet and Russia's Kannon Dance Company at the festival. This dance was selected to close the Gala.


2003 Energy Unbound presented excerpts from my work “Energy Unbound”

with Project Distancia in Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk Russia. This performance tour was part of my Fulbright Grant No. 251. Performed by members of Kannon Dance Company and project participants. This project laid the groundwork to bring WTAMU dancers to St. Petersburg Russia for our collaborative performance in 2004.


2003 Misguided Faith... presented my work “Misguided Faith...” at the Open Look International Festival of Contemporary Dance, St. Petersburg Russia and with Project Distancia, Krasnoyarsk Russia. The performance was part of my Fulbright Grant No. 251.


1996 Medium of Desire Collaborative performance art project with Paris based visual artist Lauren Unger. Performance combined dance with the creation of large mural paintings, integrating the dancers into the painting process and the painter into the dancing. Project was performed with different dancers and completely different choreography in each city.

2004 Dancing in Russian Air, KACTV (PBS affiliate) documentary on a collaborative performance of my ballet “Energy Unbound'” in St. Petersburg Russia. Dancers from the Kannon Dance Company, WTAMU, and the Lone Star Ballet all participated in this work. Documentary follows the rehearsal process in Texas and Russia, the performance in St. Petersburg, as well as the process of cultural exchange that was the genesis of the project.

2005 Lone Star Ballet Company, Provided facility and studio layout plan analysis for the Lone Star Ballet's new building.


2003/4 Kannon Dance Company and Lesgaft University, St. Petersburg Russia. Invited to consult on the development of a new contemporary dance program at Lesgaft University in St. Petersburg, Russia to be administered by the directors of Kannon Dance Company Vadim and Nataly Kasparova. The consultation included comparative analysis of their current curriculum with BFA programs in the US and NASD standards. It also included help with the development of quality syllabi. The consultation continued through 2004.

Grants Funded-External


2003 Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Fulbright Senior Specialist Grant No. 251. St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Krasnoyarsk, Russia. June 3 - July 12, 2003. Consulted on a new dance program with emphasis on American modern and jazz dance with the Kannon Dance Company in residence at Lesgaft University. As part of the Fulbright I participated in Project Distancia, I was the first non-Russian invited. Project Distancia is a performance and teaching tour reaching across Russia from St. Petersburg into Siberia. I also participated in the Open Look International Festival of Contemporary Dance in St. Petersburg Russia. Inivited to present my original composition, 'Misguided Faith...'␣ which had its Russian premiere at the Krasnoyarsk Ballet Opera House as part of Project Distancia. “Misguided Faith...'” was then presented at Open Look in St. Petersburg Russia. Taught advanced jazz dance technique daily, lectured on jazz dance history in each city and presented excerpts from my original jazz/ballet “Energy Unbound” in Yekaterinburg, and Krasnoyarsk.

Grants Funded-Internal


1999 Travel Grant from California State University, Fresno. Awarded grant to teach a workshop in St. Petersburg, Russia. Workshop classes included American jazz dance technique, composition, and a lecture “American Jazz Dance in a Historical Context: Past, Present, and Future Trends.” The composition course was the first of it's kind offered in St. Petersburg that was open to all interested dancers, teachers, and choreographers across Russia.


Awards

2005 First Place for Best Contemporary Ballet for my ballet “Kinetic Ties” at the Grand Prix Italia International Dance Festival, Cesena Italy. This category included competition from professional and pre-professional dance organizations.
